Somatic Experiencing®
This is the main focus of my practice. Somatic Experiencing® was developed by Peter Levine, Ph.D. It looks at the body's innate reaction to trauma and helps to finish the process that starts with the fight, flight or freeze response. This is a primitive brain function that all animals have when faced with a possible traumatic event.
SE® is a gentle and compassionate way to work through a traumatic experience, which allows the body to finish a reaction that never had a chance to complete itself. Circumstances may hinder its completion or often times trauma has built up over the years and the body develops a reaction that is contrary to what nature intended. SE® works to help retrain your primitive brain to regulate itself again. I am fortunate that I have been able to observe many people and their bodies regain the ability to naturally and without effort be in a regulated state. It's never too late.
I suggest Peter Levine's book "Waking the Tiger" and "The Trauma Spectrum" by Robert Scaer, MD for good information on trauma and how it affects our nervous system.

Kahuna ARCH®
Kahuna ARCH® is a form of vibrational energy which has its roots in ancient Hawaiian traditions. Through hands-on or distant focus, Kahuna ARCH® sends out all of the frequencies of life force energy. Not only does it use all of the frequencies, but also it first works on the unconscious level, which is where people often have blockages.
Reiki
Reiki energy is a force that instinctively knows where you need it. The energy works to unblock areas that may be stagnant in your system and to balance the natural flow of energy in your body.
WHAT MIGHT REIKI DO?
- Support the body's natural abilities
- Function on all levels, mental, spiritual, physical and emotional
- Balance the body's energies, bringing the body back into harmony through relaxation.
- Reduce stress
- Compliment other forms of treatment, whether orthodox medicine or natural therapy.
Therapeutic Touch
Therapeutic Touch was developed in 1972 by Dolores Krieger, PhD, RN and Dora Van Gelder Kunz, a natural practitioner. Nurses were the first group to learn Therapeutic Touch. Today many hospitals and Nursing institutions in the U.S. and world offer and teach Therapeutic Touch. Currently, many health professionals (such as massage therapists, dentists, and mental health professionals etc) as well as lay people practice and can learn Therapeutic Touch. In 1992, the National Institute of Health (Office of Alternative Medicine) indicated that Therapeutic Touch had one of the strongest research bases of alternative modalities.
WHAT DOES IT DO?
The primary goal of Therapeutic Touch is to restore harmony and balance to the individual. While this does not guarantee a cure, an underlying assumption in Therapeutic Touch is that the body has innate capacities and that Therapeutic Touch assists with these processes. The practice is non-invasive and since the Universal Energy Field extends beyond the skin, Therapeutic Touch does not require actual touch. Often clients who have received Therapeutic Touch report feeling more relaxed, and that they experience less stress and reduced anxiety.
Distance Healing
I thoroughly enjoy doing distance sessions. I visualize the person or animal and then place that image in front of me. I scan the body to see where the energy needs to go and then ask to be guided on how to best help them. I then proceed with ARCH®, Reiki, or Therapeutic Touch, depending on what the client asks for or needs. ARCH® energy is drawn from outside of myself and into the client. Reiki energy passes through me to my clients. With Therapeutic Touch, I can sense where things are out of balance when I scan with my hands. I draw Therapeutic Touch energy into my heart chakra and then send it from there to the client.
Who Can Be Treated?
Any one can ask for this type of work. It doesn't matter where a client is, I can zero in on them. The only thing that is necessary, is that they be asleep, quietly lying down or sitting in a relaxed state somewhere. The ARCH® and Reiki energy can be enervating to someone who needs to stay focused at work or is at some task requiring their full attention. Sometimes I will do a late night session while the person is asleep or resting quietly.
